Amazon’s calculated that a page load slowdown of just one second could cost it $1.6 billion in sales each year. Google has calculated that by slowing its search results by just four tenths of a second they could lose 8 million searches per day

In Greek, “nostalgia” literally means, “the pain from an old wound”. It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn’t a spaceship. It’s a time machine. It goes backwards, forwards. It takes us to a place where we ache to go again. It’s not called the Wheel. It’s called a Carousel. It lets us travel the way a child travels. Around and around, and back home again… to a place where we know we are loved.

ate a slice of Hawaiian pizza
because I was too hungry to go to sleep.
Spent the week with my parents and it was lovely. It really rejuvenated me for school. It’s so funny how it is clear that I am most definitely the product of my parents. Sassy. Independent. Blunt as hell.
If only I could adopt their other traits. Like emotional fortitude. Ability to brush petty things aside. I suppose that comes with time.
I just finished reading The Girl Who Played With Fire. Damn. I know this is fiction but Lisbeth Salander - you are a badass and I wish I had one ounce of the strength you embody. Sadly, her strength is derived from all horrific events that she has encounter. It’s really true - what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
So onward ho! to my last term at school. I will take a bit of Mom and Dad with me. A little bit of Lisbeth Salander. A little bit of the lessons learned from these past 21 years of life. Cross my fingers - it’ll be a good term.
